What makes Jersey Strength & Athletics different?
CrossFit gyms as a whole are not a part of a chain or franchise. Each gym is individually owned and operated with as many differences between them as the differences you see between the many restaurants you drive past each day. JSA CrossFit, however, is unlike any other gym class, bootcamp, or fitness program. With nine years of full time coaching experience, JSA CrossFit was one of only three CrossFit gyms in 2006 in the entire state of NJ, and is the 180th CrossFit gym to open out of over 13,000 CrossFit gyms around the world currently. Countless hours and many years of coaching experience has made us skilled in helping everyone from the first time CrossFitter to the highly athletic individual looking to change their fitness routine to enhance all areas of their lives.
We incorporate various tools to help our members reach their fitness goals, from nutrition counseling to expert coaching on complex movements. Our program is comprised of Olympic weightlifting, power lifting, kettlebell training, basic gymnastics movements, and metabolic conditioning. Our coaches will provide instruction and progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our group class sessions. Our goal is not to sell 500 memberships and hope that people don’t come. Our goal is to provide you with a great fitness experience and help you reach goals that were once thought unattainable. If you are coming from a sedentary background or come to us nursing some injuries and limitations, this will by no means affect your ability to CrossFit. CrossFit is universally scalable to all fitness levels.
JSACF is a TEACHING box and our coaches are eager to teach every time they step on the floor. Our main focus is that all of our athletes, every single time they attend class learn how to move safer, more efficiently and with greater skill whether it is their 1st or 1000th day of training. Our JSACF Trained Instructors complete a 45 hour Internship that includes 3 written/verbal tests before they wear our coach’s shirt. Our instructors are taught how to design skill specific warm ups, teach Points of Performance regarding the exercises being performed that day, and monitor the athletes during the ENTIRE workout. NEVER will you see one of our instructors who are supposed to be leading the class working out with the group. NEVER will you be told to just complete what is on the board. NEVER will you see our coaches more focused on their phone than their athletes.
