What is CrossFit?

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.


JSA CrossFit delivers a program developed to offer a full-body workout that combines elements of cardio, weight lifting, gymnastics, core training and more to prepare the body for the unexpected. This high-intensity workout is extremely varied and all about getting the most bang for your workout buck. A CrossFitter will never do the same routine twice in one week and although each class is from 45 minutes to one hour, the duration of the workout of the day (WOD) will vary. CrossFit classes are high-intensity group classes focused on the philosophy of high-intensity interval training or HITT in the ten general skills of:  Cardiovascular/Respiratory, Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of athletic ability. All that is required is the desire to learn, the goal to become physically fit and an openness to join a community of individuals who cheer, sweat and high five each other for completing an incredible workout while others sit on their couch.
